It is no secret that Apple is very interested in AR and VR. This is evidenced, for example, by patents submitted, job advertisements and also takeovers of start-ups that deal with these topics. However, the question now is when Apple will launch a suitable product on the market.
CNETbased on an anonymous source said to be familiar with Apple's plans, reports that the makers of the iPhone and iPad are working on a mix of augmented and virtual reality glasses that will offer a resolution of 8K per eye. 8K per eye may sound rather ambitious, but the AR-VR headset is not due to go on sale until 2020.
The AR-VR glasses with the code name "T288" The report states that the headset relies on a 60 GHz wireless data connection and a custom Apple chip and does not use external trackers. The headset should be able to recognise the environment independently and without additional peripherals. Apple did not want to comment on the rumour.
