Ingress Prime: Reboot of the AR game confirmed

Niantic, the makers of "Pokémon GO" and "Ingress", have revealed the development of "Ingress Prime". The title will be based on the mobile AR game "Ingress", which has been downloaded over 20 million times since its release in 2012. In addition to "Ingress Prime", a new anime series set in the sci-fi universe of "Ingress" is also being worked on.

"Ingress Prime" introduces a completely redesigned user interface and a revised sound design. In addition, a modern Augmented reality technology which allows players to immerse themselves in the sci-fi world using the camera on their mobile device. In addition, the overall gaming experience will be improved, giving new and existing agents an enjoyable introduction to the revised version of the game and the battle between the Enlightened Ones and the Resistance.

Although the global score will be reset as part of the new storyline, all previously active agents will retain their progress, level and items in "Ingress Prime". The reboot "Ingress Prime" will be released in 2018 for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The official site is already available.
