Zurich Insurance recently started offering applicants a virtual tour of its headquarters in Zurich Oerlikon. It is only one of many ways in which VR can be used for HR processes.

A simple advertisement is usually no longer enough to find good employees. Swiss companies must therefore become more creative in their recruitment. And so it happens that the Zurich Insurance has recently started offering its applicants a virtual tour of the headquarters in Zurich Oerlikon. Using 360-degree technology, interested parties can visit offices, meeting rooms or the canteen with a computer, tablet, smartphone or VR glasses. In addition, there are video statements by employees or the opportunity to find out about different working models.

Corresponding to the present day with VR

This gives the applicant a good impression of what the potential new place looks like and helps him or her to better assess whether he or she can feel comfortable in such an environment. Instead of ploughing through eternally long texts, you can sit back comfortably and watch the informative videos. This is definitely in keeping with the times.

VR is such a wonderful way for a company to present itself in an innovative way and also to dust off its image. How the Miele company scored with VR at the LAP can be read in our recently published Report read.

Casting and meetings in VR

Such a virtual tour would be even cooler if it were really interactive. It would certainly be exciting for a company to see how a potential applicant behaves and solves certain tasks. It would open up completely new avenues for conventional castings.

Of course, virtual meetings are always a topic, especially when it comes to applicants from abroad. However, this presupposes that VR becomes even more widespread in the mass market or that applicants have access to the corresponding hardware.

The field of application of VR hears as the example of KFC does not stop at the application process, but goes all the way to employee training. In the future, HR people will have new exciting tools to make their processes more innovative.
