Music fans with Samsung Gear VR can rejoice, because Samsung will broadcast a US concert by Coldplay live, free of charge and in 360 degrees via its own Samsung VR service. This will take place on 18 August 2017 at 3:30 am our time. So you have to be an early riser.
The concert takes place at the Soldier Field football stadium in Chicago. It can hold 90,000 concertgoers. Virtual reality users are promised the best seats so that they can experience Coldplay, the pyrotechnics and the laser show up close. The required app "Samsung VR" can be downloaded free of charge.
A short YouTube video gives a foretaste of the VR live experience. So if you've never managed to experience Coldplay live, you'll be offered an alternative to a real concert, which of course can't be replaced 100 per cent, but at least it's a start.
