System update 4.50 for the PlayStation 4 and version 2.50 for PlayStation VR were released last week. The tracking of the headset has been improved, especially for the PS Move controllers. The annoying wobbling of the PlayStation Move controllers has been significantly reduced, as reported on the YouTube channel "iWaggleVR" is reported. Take a look at the two videos to get an impression of the improvements. In any case, you can now look forward to more precision.
Although HTC's Lighthouse technology is still superior to the PlayStation Camera, the latest updates for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR are still a step in the right direction. Below you can see all the important changes and new features that have been introduced with the recent updates for PlayStation VR at a glance.
Further improvements for PSVR
- If you play a game via PS VR and then return to the PS4 home screen, the resolution on the TV's "social screen" may appear lower than usual. The update solves this problem. The resolution of the system screen displayed on your TV will be much better when you are outside of VR mode.
- We have also optimised the resolution of cinema mode on PS VR. If the screen size on PS VR is set to Small or Medium, this update increases the frame rate of content viewed in cinema mode from 90 Hz to 120 Hz.
- PS VR now also supports Blu-ray 3D discs. You can now watch these discs in stereoscopic 3D via your headset.
