Expanding Immersive Design- Designing a whole environment

Virtual and Augmented reality often not only offer a completely new experience for the end user, but also present product designers and developers with many unforeseen challenges. Instead of just creating a single eye-catcher, an entire environment is designed to feel as immersive, as inclusive as possible. So it's a whole new approach, a whole new way of designing. In October 2016, the Institute for Design Research organised the international conference Expanding Immersive Design organised. Actors from the Department of Design have been working on immersive media such as augmented and virtual reality for a long time. Now these are reaching the mass market: in the context of the conference international experts discussed from the private sector and academia presented the findings. The event was organised and curated by Max Rheiner (Interaction Design) and Jonas Christen.
