The Power Rangers are an absolute mass phenomenon. The 22nd season of "Power Rangers Dino Charge" ended on 10 December. The colourful trash fighters are in the same league as Southpark (20 seasons) and The Simpsons (28 seasons). One would think that the topic is slowly but surely exhausted. But that is not the case at all. On the contrary: the TV series continues. The 23rd season is called Power Rangers Ninja Steel. But that's not all, of course. In January, a game called "Power Rangers: Mega Battle" will be released for PS4, XBox One and PC, and on 23 March the big movie will start. It will not be produced in the trashy look of the TV series, but as a blockbuster with a budget of 120 million dollars. You can watch the cinema trailer below. It looks very promising in my opinion.
You're probably wondering what exactly this has to do with VR. Well, the Power Rangers will also be attacking virtual reality. At the upcoming International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas (5. - 8.1.) the Qualcomm and Lionsgate present a new Power Rangers VR experience. The VR experience has been developed to match the new Power Rangers movie. It is not yet known where the VR experience can be experienced. However, it is assumed that this will be possible in the indoor park planned by Lionsgate. The park was announced by the film studio last July and is set to open in China. Further, Lionsgate will work with Parques Reunidos 20 amusement centres in various European malls. VR experiences will hardly be missing.
We're looking forward to CES to find out more about the VR attack of the Power Rangers.
