VLC Player comes with VR support

The popular multimedia player VLC can now also play 360-degree videos. The new feature was integrated in collaboration with the camera manufacturer Giroptic. They provided sample files, cameras, codes and know-how for the development. Users can currently look around the clips with the mouse and keyboard. The test version can be here can be downloaded.

Next year, the player will be supplemented with support for some VR glasses such as HTC Vive, Daydream, Oculus and OSVR. The player will also integrate 3D sound and head tracking. This version will be available for Android, iOS, XBox One and PC.
