Come Bloomberg berichtet, arbeiten Oculus und das Mutterunternehmen Facebook an einem kabellosen Standalone-VR-Headset, das kein Smartphone und keinen PC benötigt. Die Hardware ist direkt in der VR-Brille verbaut. Der Preis soll bei erschwinglichen 200 US-Dollar liegen und eine günstige Alternative zu den bisherigen High-End-VR-Headsets darstellen. Das Projekt läuft unter dem Codenamen „Pacific“ und soll ein ähnliches Design wie Oculus Rift vorweisen.
