Cola promotes a world without waste with AR

During a promotional tour, augmented reality was used to draw attention to Coca-Cola's recycled PET bottles.

At the beginning of May 2022, Coca-Cola Switzerland introduced 100 per cent recycled PET (rPET) for all bottles produced in Switzerland. The changeover is part of the company's global vision of "A world without waste". The Agency USP Partner was entrusted with the overall responsibility for the POS launch and was responsible for the project management from the concept, development of the shopper activation to ensuring a brand-appropriate overall appearance on the sales floor and organisation of the promotional staff for support during implementation.

A Coca-Cola promotional tour was organised at Coop so that Swiss consumers could be made even more aware of the topic of "100% recycled PET" through personal contact. The aim was to familiarise consumers with the rPET production process in a simple, impressive and fun way.

The centrepiece of the promotional tour was a large display with a rotating wheel, on which the rPET production process was explained in five steps. In order to anchor the innovation of rPET as a lasting brand experience in the minds of shoppers, the five-step rPET production process was also accompanied by an augmented reality animation.

According to the press release, personal contact was made with over 5000 shoppers during the promotional tour, 2000 of whom were given a demonstration of the rPET manufacturing process.
