Swisscom invites you to a virtual ice cream hunt

Swisscom is breaking new ground in consumer activation and launching the unique Swisscom Summer Huntan augmented reality ice cream hunt. Swisscom wants to get customers excited about new technologies, bring joy into the summer and promote the new look and feel of some Swisscom shops.

Augmented reality expands the real world with digital content and thus offers marketing great opportunities to inspire customers. Swisscom has also recognised this and launched a promotion called Swisscom Summer Hunt.

On the ice-cream hunt for prizes

This is how the ice cream hunt works: The aim is to collect ice creams in a playful way using your own smartphone. There will be a total of three game zones: The first ice-cold temptation can be found at home. The second ice cream is hidden in the nearest Swiss town and the third must be found around a Swisscom shop. If the ice cream hunt is successfully completed, a prize awaits in the Swisscom Shop.

Together with the retail agency TMI, the Swisscom Summer Hunt was launched on the blockchain-based and AR-powered BlockV technology.

Attract customers via AR

Tom von Däniken, Head of Go to Market at Swisscom Residential, is quoted as follows: "For a few weeks now, our shops can be visited again without square metre restrictions. With this innovative and playful game, we are pleased to be able to welcome many customers personally to our shops once again and at the same time offer them an entertaining augmented reality hunt. Of course, we have great prizes and promotions in store for existing and new customers. You can look forward to it. It's going to be a great summer experience." The promotion started on 29 July and will run until 29 August.
