Nightwish Virtuelles Konzert

The Islanders Arms: Nightwish invite to virtual reality shows

Larger concerts will probably remain a dream for even longer next year due to the coronavirus. The Finnish metal band Nightwish therefore invites you to two special concert evenings next year, which will show the band from a completely new side and immerse the audience in a different, virtual world.

The caption "An evening with Nightwish in a virtual world" already gives an idea of the direction it will take. The Finnish metal band is using virtual reality to create The Islanders Arms tavern, where the shows will take place. The audience can expect two unforgettable 90-minute performances, which will include songs from the current album "Human. :||: Nature." will be played for the first time. The setlist varies for each show. The whole thing will take place on Friday, 12 March 2021 at 20:00 for European audiences and on the night of Saturday to Sunday, 13 and 14 March 2021 at 02:00 for audiences from the USA. Nightwish invite you with the words: "We cordially invite you to spend a night with Nightwish at The Islanders Arms."

Attend a virtual concert with your own avatar

Fans can expect an almost magical, diverse 3D fantasy world into which they can immerse themselves during the show, as well as the possibility of an interactive concert experience. The audience can create an avatar that can take part in the concert and interact with other fans using gestures, cheers, emojis and a chat function. The avatar can also be dressed in Nightwish merchandise. The production, which lets you enjoy Nightwish from your computer or mobile device, is managed by Zoan, whose Burst Live platform was also used for the virtual reality show by Finnish rapper JVG, which attracted more than a million viewers in the spring.

Certainly no substitute for a normal live concert, but a really different experience.

Tickets are available via the Website of the band, starting at 25 euros. Both concerts are available up to 48 hours after the shows.
