Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond honours veterans

Respawn Entertainment has released a new video for the first-person shooter "Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond", which shows a feature that honours the veterans of the Second World War, the so-called "Gallery".

The "Gallery" is a series of interviews with real World War II veterans, which aims to help players better understand the time and moments of the war. Real stories with real protagonists are to be presented, while "Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond" uses innovative VR technology to show the stories of the Second World War in a new experience, according to the makers.

Regarding the "Gallery" included in the game, it is said: "The Gallery lets players delve deeper into authentic and historically accurate details, while this interactive entertainment experience also sheds light on the history of war. The Gallery offers players moving interviews: Stories told by veterans in the exact location where they stood in Europe more than 75 years ago, delivering powerful moments complemented by stunning 360° VR footage of crucial World War II locations."

The collection of short documentaries available in the "Gallery" was produced under the direction of Anthony Giacchino and deals with veterans of the Second World War. "COLETTE", a short film about a French resistance fighter that was created especially for the game, recently even celebrated a limited virtual cinema release. The film also won the prize for best short documentary at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival at the beginning of the year. Further information can be found in a Blog entry. "Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond" will be released on 11 December 2020 for Oculus Rift and OpenVR-compatible devices.
