Ubisoft announces VR games: Assassin's Creed & Splinter Cell

Ubisoft has announced two more VR games in development exclusively for the Oculus platform. These are based on the well-known brands "Assassin's Creed" and "Splinter Cell". However, the titles have not yet been revealed in concrete terms.

The two games are being developed by Red Storm Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisoft Mumbai. They will be tailored from the ground up specifically for the Oculus platform and are expected to boast elements that fans of the game series know and love. Ubisoft has already released VR titles such as Eagle Flight, Werewolves Within and Star Trek: Bridge Crew.

"We're always discovering new ways to use technology to create memorable gaming experiences," said Elizabeth Loverso, Vice President of Product Development at Ubisoft Red Storm Entertainment. "Oculus' state of the art hardware allows us to bring the worlds of Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell to life for fans in a new way. Both games will take full advantage of Oculus' technology to deliver immersive and intuitive experiences that players won't experience anywhere else."

"We are delighted to be working with Ubisoft to bring two of their AAA brands to virtual reality. They are an exceptional partner who consistently creates groundbreaking content, and Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell on the Oculus platform are no exception. Players will be offered dramatic and immersive experiences within their beloved worlds that were previously only available in 2D. We are very excited to bring these VR games to fans of the series as well as new players," said Mike Verdu, VP of Content, Facebook Reality Labs.
