Bhere have been a steady stream of new eBook reader models in recent months. However, real innovations have been few and far between. Now Pocketbook is announcing a reader that is sure to usher in a new generation of readers: the Pocketbook Color can display e-books and augmented reality content in 4096 colours on its colour display.
The manufacturer PocketBook, founded in Switzerland in 2007, is planning a new e-reader with modern E-Ink Kaleido technology, which enables a colour touch display. The PocketBook Color measures 6 inches, can display 4096 colours and boasts 300 dpi. Comics, art books or medical guides with photos and illustrations can therefore be viewed as they were intended.
AR also attracts young consumers
The device also supports augmented reality content and should therefore also be suitable for younger target groups. Audio books or text-to-speech functionality are just as important as Bluetooth and a long battery life. However, the manufacturer has yet to provide exact technical data.
