Battle royale games such as "Call of Duty: Warzone", "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" and "Fortnite" are very popular. Now and again, the genre is also realised in VR, such as with "Virtual Battlegrounds".
CyberDream and Spiral Summit have released the battle royale shooter via the Steam-Early-Access and the user reviews so far have been largely positive. "Virtual Battlegrounds" is compatible with Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality.
The official description of the game suggests that "Virtual Battlegrounds" doesn't hold any big surprises for genre fans, but this shouldn't be taken negatively: "Virtual Battlegrounds is a VR battle royale designed from the ground up for virtual reality. Fight with tactical gunplay on an epic map and with physically controlled locomotion to be the last fighter standing on this dystopian, war-torn island."
