"Half-Life: Alyx" will be released in March 2020 for Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality, but what about PlayStation VR? Is there a chance?
Designer Greg Coomer did not give a clear "no". However, he did say that the initial release of Half-Life: Alyx will only be available for SteamVR. "We believe that Sony's VR platform has been a great success for the medium and we anticipate that many Sony customers would love to experience this new chapter of Half-Life," said Greg Coomer.
According to him, a PSVR port is not in active development because Valve is fully focussed on the PC release of "Half-Life: Alyx", but Valve has not completely ruled out such a conversion. But perhaps Valve is already looking ahead to the PlayStation 5 and PSVR 2, as the PlayStation 4 might not have enough hardware power for "Half-Life: Alyx".
And if you want to see "Half-Life: Alyx" for yourself, you should take a look at the new video from "Tested". The YouTube channel was invited to Valve's headquarters to exclusively try out eight different VR headsets with "Half-Life: Alyx". Gameplay scenes can also be seen.
