Maze Theory, PlayStack and BBC have announced that „Doctor Who: The Edge of Time“ will be released on 12 November 2019 for HTC Vive, HTC Vive Cosmos, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR.
Der 12. November 2019 bedeutet übrigens eine mehr oder weniger kleine Verschiebung, denn ursprünglich war die Veröffentlichung von „Doctor Who: The Edge of Time“ für den September 2019 geplant, aber die Entwickler haben für den letzten Feinschliff einfach etwas mehr Zeit benötigt.
Der Doctor wird in „The Edge of Time“ von der aktuellen Inkarnation der beliebten Figur gesprochen, der Schauspielerin Jodie Whittaker. Der Doctor muss in dem VR-Spiel wenig überraschend das Ende des Universums verhindern, indem er eine Reihe von Zeitkristallen zurückerhält und damit das Gefüge der Raumzeit repariert. Es werden verblüffende Rätsel, bekannte Feinde, darunter die Daleks und die Weeping Angels, sowie noch viel mehr Fan-Service versprochen.
