Virtual Human trains employers' dismissal skills

The company Talespin offers companies a virtual reality solution for practising termination interviews as smoothly as possible. An AI-supported virtual employee serves as a test object.

The high-tech company Talespin has branches in Los Angeles (USA) and Utrecht (Netherlands) and specialises in virtual reality solutions for the business sector. One of its products is called Virtual Human and simulates AI-supported termination interviews.

Barry Thompson is fired non-stop

Using a VR headset, suitable controllers and voice input, HR officers and employers practise their dismissal skills on an AI employee called Barry Thompson, who is consequently given the bad news countless times during the many product deployments.

Virtual Human is primarily intended to sensitise its customers and promote social skills that help to make the termination process as pleasant as possible for everyone involved. Algorithms analyse what has been said or written and allow Barry to react dynamically - sometimes with understanding, sometimes with anger or shock.

According to the company, numerous companies and corporations are already utilising the technology. The cost of the whole thing has not yet been publicly communicated, but should not be relevant for private users with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Valve Index anyway. Interested parties can via e-mail contact Talespin.
