None of the six original founding members of Oculus is no longer employed by the virtual reality company. The last member to leave is Nate Mitchell. He was most recently Head of VR Product.
Nate Mitchell said that he is taking some time off to travel, spend time with his family and recharge his batteries. He also mentioned that he plans to remain part of the Oculus community in some capacity. However, he will have a much smaller role in the future. Nate Mitchell was not more specific.
Nate Mitchell believes that Facebook, which bought Oculus for two billion US dollars in 2014, will continue to surprise and delight fans with virtual reality platforms. "I can't wait to see what comes next," he says. Palmer Luckey already left Oculus in 2017. Michael Antonov also left this year (May 2019).
