Niantic and WB Games have announced that the mobile AR game "Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" will be released worldwide on 21 June 2019 for iOS and Android (first in the USA and UK), which is already the case this week. The new launch trailer serves as an introduction.
"Harry Potter: Wizards Unite" comes from the makers of "Pokémon GO", which follows a similar game principle. The title takes place in a magical setting and relies on Augmented reality. This is why all kinds of magical creatures and objects appear in the real world. You have to use a variety of spells to defeat the protective magic surrounding the objects and return them safely to the magical world.
The storyline: "A disaster has befallen the wizarding world, causing Findable Objects - magical artefacts, creatures, people, even memories - to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world. As a new recruit to the Secrecy Statute Intervention Force, you'll work with witches and wizards from around the world to solve the mystery of this disaster and keep magic secret from the Muggles."
