Phantasialand plans to open its new attraction "Crazy Bats" this summer. According to the park, this is the "longest VR coaster in the world", which will be a redesign of the dark roller coaster "Temple of the Nighthawk".
The Phantasialand in Cologne is moving into new territory: with "Crazy Bats", the Brühl amusement park is opening its first virtual reality roller coaster this summer. The company is converting the dark roller coaster "Temple of the Nighthawk" for this purpose. Visitors will then ride on a real roller coaster, but with VR goggles on and thus in a virtual environment that changes in line with the ride movements.
As Phantasialand announces, visitors can accompany "three cool heroes on their crazy mission". This refers to three bats that are at the centre of the VR story.
According to Phantasialand, the ride is "clearly ahead of its worldwide competitors" with a ride time of around four minutes. And there are already a few of those, as we reported.
"The long ride time offers a very special potential for the film, the mission of the three crazy bats: While other VR attractions can only tell just as short a story due to the short ride time, Crazy Bats in Phantasialand has plenty of room to unfold and thus becomes a particularly intense and appealing fun experience for the whole family," the company continues.
