If you want to make your VR experience on the PlayStation 4 more realistic, from 17 June 2019 you can purchase the Foot Motion Controller 3dRudder for PlayStation VR, which will be compatible with various games.
The 3dRudder allows you to move freely in VR space and use your hands for other actions, which you can do while seated. There is a thin, circular platform on the top of the device on which you can place your feet. There is also a curved underside. This combination is designed to enable intuitive movements: "You simply tilt your feet in the direction you want to move. Left to go left, forwards to go forwards, and so on. The stronger the tilt, the faster you move. This enables lifelike movements."
"This creates a completely different way of experiencing games," says Mixed Realms, the studio behind "Sairento VR" (soon available for PSVR). "The 3dRudder is an innovative device that allows you to move around in VR games in a completely different way. For us, it's the hoverboard for virtual reality experiences." Incidentally, the connection is very simple via the USB port of the PS4. No further installation is necessary.
The following games have been confirmed for 3dRudder so far:
- Immortal Legacy: The Jade Cypher
