Nintendo has announced that the successful Switch blockbusters "Super Mario Odyssey" and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will both be playable in VR. This will be done via the "Nintendo Labo: VR Set".

The new set around "Nintendo Labo" is aimed at children as well as families and, according to Nintendo, offers a simple and first access to virtual reality. For this reason, only mini-games have been presented so far, but now we know that the whole thing is getting more substance.

"Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will both receive free updates on 26 April 2019 that will make the games fit for virtual reality. The "Nintendo Labo: VR Set" will already be available in stores from 12 April 2019.

While Super Mario Odyssey gets a bonus mode with three mini-missions, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild can apparently be experienced entirely in VR. A trailer provides impressions. However, the "Nintendo Labo: VR Set" will be delivered without a headband. It is not yet entirely clear how this is supposed to work properly.
