Pablo Lafora from Tessara Studios ("Intruders: Hide and Seek") believes that PlayStation VR will also play an important role in the upcoming PlayStation 5. Sony has not yet given any precise details on this.
By the way, Pablo Lafora has already saidthat Microsoft will probably not put much emphasis on virtual reality in the next Xbox. With Sony and the PS5, he says it's quite different: "PSVR is an add-on and PS Move is already nine years old. It worked great and it doesn't seem like they planned it from the beginning. Sony knows VR/AR is the future, so I think VR will play a much more important role in PS5."
He added: "We think the console has been designed with VR in mind from the beginning, so it probably won't be an add-on anymore, although that doesn't mean it will be exclusively a VR gadget. So yes, VR will be very important for the PS5." That's not an official statement from the hardware manufacturer, of course, but it's a strong assumption that Sony will continue to focus on PSVR.
