Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, Immersive Entertainment and Tequila Works have announced the VR game "Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son". This is the sequel to the cult film "And every day the groundhog greets you" ("Groundhog Day") from the year 1993.
"Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son" will be released in 2019 for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. A trailer provides the first impressions. Eight hours of hilarious puzzles and branching, narrative gameplay are promised. The aim is to think outside the box and break the time loop cycle.
In "Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son", you don't play Phil Connors (Bill Murray). Instead, you take on the role of his son Phil Connors Jr. who has grown up in his father's shadow. Phil Connors Jr. is trapped at home in Punxsutawney and also has to repeat the day over and over again until he realises the true value of friends and family.
