Dark Eclipse: The first MOBA for PSVR

On 25 September 2018, developer Sunsoft will launch the first MOBA for PlayStation VR. This is the Free-to-play title "Dark Eclipse". The trailer offers some gameplay impressions.

Shohei SakakibaraProducer at Sunsoft, describes his game as follows: "Dark Eclipse is a VR MOBA and takes full advantage of VR technology to offer you a truly immersive gaming experience. You begin the battle against your opponents by choosing three unique leaders from a roster of heroes and dominators that inhabit the game's dark fantasy world called Oldus. Victory is achieved by destroying your opponent's towers while defeating their leaders and gaining ground on the battlefield."

"Dark Eclipse" is designed entirely for online battles in which you can compete against players from all over the world via the PlayStation Network. Basically, "Dark Eclipse" is not much different from the typical MOBAs, but the VR view is said to be advantageous. "With the all-round view, [players] can see the battle unfolding around them and don't have to rely on a complex minimap," says Shohei Sakakibara. After release, the game will be expanded with regular and free updates.
