The Vive Studios have now announced the first feature-length VR film experience. "7 Miracles", as the film is called, was created in cooperation with the virtual and augmented reality studio Panogramma.
"7 Miracles" celebrates its premiere on 3 October 2018 at the 26th Raindance Film Festival. It has been nominated for the "Grand Jury Prize: Best Immersive Story". The extensive work will be available for VR headsets later this year. "7 Miracles" is a multi-part episodic film that brings the "Seven Miracles of Christ" based on the Gospel of John to life in VR. The makers say: "The 360-degree experience connects the audience with virtual reality like never before and brings the story of the film to life up close." The film is based on the latest virtual reality technology and was created with the help of photogrammetry and volumetric video capture.
"We are excited to push the boundaries of storytelling in VR with 7 Miracles," says Joel Breton, GM of Vive Studios. "Our amazing film production team has worked tirelessly to develop the technology for cinematic virtual reality and bring viewers back in time to experience the miracles of Jesus for themselves." Rome and Matera were chosen as filming locations.
"Working on this project was a wonderful experience for us. The new cinematic VR technology has given my team and I the opportunity to create and tell more personal and intimate stories. I am very proud of our work," says Enzo Sisti, Executive Producer. "7 Miracles" was directed by Rodrigo Cerqueira, Founding CEO of Panogramma ("Jesus VR: The Story of Christ"), and director Marco Spagnoli ("Hollywood Invasion", "Hollywood on Tiber"). Enzo Sisti ("Aquaman", "Wonder Woman", "Avengers: Age of Ultron"), Vive Studios' Joel Breton and Rodrigo Cerqueira were responsible for production.
