Selfie Guide with AR function for selfie lovers

Selfies are not only an expression of lifestyle, but also a status symbol. If you want to take really good pictures, you need the right background motif. The new Selfie Guide app therefore shows the best selfie locations around the world, even using augmented reality. A must download for all globetrotters.

When travelling and in beautiful places, it happens all the time: Wherever and whenever possible, people whip out their smartphones, show their teeth and press the shutter button. This is usually followed by an upload to Facebook and happiness is perfect. But it's not just about a perfect duck face, the background also needs to be well chosen. After all, you can show the exciting places you are in.

If you want to perfect the art of taking selfies and get to know the best selfie locations around the world, a new app is now available.

Selfie Guide is free of charge

The app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store from Apple and only works on iPhones. There is no German localisation, but world travellers will certainly not be bothered by the English language.

"Impress your family and friends with your recently taken travel selfies, upload and share them, and discover some of the most beautiful places around the world," writes the publisher of the same name about its app. This hits the nail on the head - and the nerve of selfie fans.

Set the perfect scene with AR

The free download comes with 20 ready-made guides. The locations include London, Paris, New York and Sydney, as well as exclusive destinations such as Santorini, Capri and Niagara Falls. Once a guide has been loaded, the fun can begin.

Augmented reality is even used to ensure that the background motif and face are perfectly staged. The visual aids use augmented reality to superimpose small landmarks, i.e. orientation aids and outlines of places of interest, into the camera view, as well as an area in which the selfie fan's head should be located. In this way, the perfect self-portrait can be created and the best section can be found. Beforehand, you should use the activated location services to navigate as close as possible to the selfie spot - an integration for Apple Maps is already available in the Selfie Guide.

The recording can then be shared on social networks, where it is sure to generate enthusiasm and a little envy.
