Virtual visit to the show dairy

What a cheese: The agency has realised a 360-degree video for Emmentaler that literally shows the production process thanks to virtual reality.

From the meadow to the restaurant: The Swiss agency Nexum has produced a 360-degree video for Emmentaler Switzerland and the Emmentaler show dairy. The four-minute video uses five key scenes to convey in an "impressive and immersive way how a real Emmentaler AOP is produced", according to a press release from the agency.

At the beginning of the film, the viewer is transported to an Emmental meadow, where the production history of Emmentaler AOP begins with fresh grass and Emmental cows. The viewer follows how the milk is loaded at the local farmer and experiences a 360-degree drone flight over a picturesque hilly landscape to the Emmental show dairy, where the remaining scenes in the video were also filmed. The various stages of cheese production and storage are explained in the production and maturing rooms of the show dairy. The video ends on a culinary note in the show dairy's restaurant, where the many different ways in which Emmentaler AOP is used are demonstrated.

The virtual reality video was produced in five languages (Bernese German, High German, English, French and Italian) and will be used at trade fairs, events and as part of various marketing activities of the Emmental show dairy. It was presented to a wide audience for the first time at the Bea 2018 trade fair.

Nexum coordinated the extensive overall production, from the story idea to the script, the casting of the speakers, the 360-degree video shoot including drone flight and post-production of the film. Nexum also developed the optimal playback infrastructure, which guaranteed particularly easy handling for the trade fair staff on site and provided a playback app with gaze control as well as the appropriate hardware consisting of virtual reality glasses and smartphones.
