The promising sci-fi shooter "Evasion", which was originally only announced for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, will also be released for PlayStation VR in autumn 2018. A new trailer is available to watch to coincide with the announcement.
The studio Archiact promises fast and intense gameplay that is suitable for up to three players in co-op. The Aim controller is even supported on PlayStation VR. Senior Producer Jennifer Dowding says of the gameplay: "Evasion lets you experience a real hail of bullets because there are so many intense battles in which you have to fight hard to win. In larger encounters in Evasion, you don't meet others one-on-one and can slowly take apart their defences."
She adds: "This clash is always tense, chaotic and you have to run and duck to keep the enemies on multiple sides around you at bay at the same time. The game is reminiscent of old arcade shooters like Space Invaders and Galaga, but it's designed for VR immersion and AAA graphics quality through the Unreal Engine."
"Evasion" offers a campaign and survival mode for single or co-operative players. The latter is designed to take down increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Various hero classes with different abilities are available for this purpose. Incidentally, there will be no cross-play support. This means that PC and console owners will not be able to play together.
