Awake: VR series combines dream & reality

The studio Start VR is currently working on the VR series "Awake", which utilises the modern 3D recording technology of Microsoft's Mixed Reality. "Awake" is set to launch on HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro and Windows Mixed Reality in the second quarter of 2018.

In "Awake" is about the life of Harry Whitbread, who is confined to a wheelchair. The series mixes past, present and future. This also applies to dreams and reality. The man reflects on his existence and the decisions that have led him to this point, while memories of his long-dead wife torment him.

However, Harry is obsessed with finding out the truth behind his visions and dreams and unravelling the mysteries. The latest holographic 3D recording technology from Microsoft ensures that real actors are transferred into virtual reality. Jake McDorman ("Die Hard 4.0", "American Sniper") and Analeigh Tipton ("Warm Bodies", "Two Night Stand") are among the actors signed up for the project. You can see what "Awake" looks like in the new trailer.
