London's Natural History Museum and Sky will be releasing the VR experience "Hold the World" in spring 2018. You can look forward to a virtual museum visit with the British documentary filmmaker Sir David Attenborough look forward to.
In "Hold the World" you will be able to view the museum's most interesting and important exhibits. This even includes objects that are not accessible to the public. For the VR experience, Sir David Attenborough was filmed by a total of 106 cameras in Microsoft's mixed reality studio in order to depict him in three dimensions. He appears in the virtual museum as a hologram that presents the exhibits.
In "Hold the World", the user can Visit as they wish. You can either run through it in 20 minutes or spend hours exploring the exhibits. The artefacts were personally selected by Sir David Attenborough. As they have been scanned in three dimensions, they can be examined very closely from all sides.
"Hold the World" will initially be released in the UK via "Sky VR" and later worldwide for Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream. A standalone application for Microsoft's Windows glasses will also be released later this year.
