The 10th Gässli Film Festival will take place in Basel from 20 to 26 August 2018. As of now, regional, national as well as international filmmakers are invited to submit their short films - including the VR filmmakers.
The Gässli Film Festival is looking for innovative short films by Swiss and international filmmakers. These will be screened to the festival audience in Grossbasel's Old Town from 20 to 26 August 2018 in six competitions and awarded attractive prizes by a hand-picked jury. There are prizes worth a total of CHF 800 to be won.
Free of genre boundaries and theme restrictions, participants can enter with a short film of up to 20 minutes. The works can be submitted on the official website for the following competitions:
Best Swiss Short Film, Best International Short Film, Best Music Video, Newcomer Award up to 30 years, Newcomer Award up to 20 years & Social Media Audience Award.
In addition, the jury will award the best director with the SRG Director's Prize worth CHF 2,000. The two young talent awards are presented by the GGG Basel.
A look into the future
In the "Innovative Storytelling" exhibition, there are new technologies to explore, such as virtual reality or media art projects. Newly, artists are invited to exhibit their works in the Loge Cliquekeller throughout the festival.
Eligible are filmmakers for all categories who submit their works by 1 June 2018.
