Civilisations AR: Museum in the living room

As part of the multi-part documentary series, the BBC has "Civilisations" released a very interesting AR app called "Civilisations AR", which allows you to project 3D scanned artefacts from British museums into your own living room.

The download is free of charge for iOS and Android available. The documentary series itself accompanies the British historians Simon Schama, Mary Beard and David Olusoga on their journey across all continents. Those who want to take the experience further can look at historical objects from museums and art galleries with "Civilisations AR".

Those who examine the objects a little more closely receive supplementary information, pictures and audio commentary. An X-ray function even allows you to look inside some objects. The VR app offers a geographical and thematic search for artefacts so that you don't lose track. At launch, more than 30 objects available (overview in the link), but more is to follow.
