Aldi and The Voice of Germany hold competition with VR

Aldi Süd and the ProSiebenSat.1 casting show "The Voice of Germany" are accompanying the current season with a competition - and lots of virtual reality.

Last autumn, the discounter Aldi Süd cooperated for the first time with the casting show The Voice of Germany, which is broadcast on ProSieben and Sat.1. Now the next season is starting - and Aldi is back again. This time, the partnership will be accompanied by new campaigns under the motto "The big buzz". The campaign began on 16 October with a combination of a scratchcard competition and a virtual reality offer. The TV broadcast of the new season of "The Voice of Germany" begins on ProSieben on 19 October; the first Sat.1 edition airs on 22 October.

The concept: As part of the campaign, Aldi Süd customers receive a scratch card for purchases worth ten euros each. Anyone who draws a winning ticket (or several) can enter the codes they receive on the website www.das-grosse-buzzern.de to take part in the prize draw. The prizes include cash prizes and trips. For example, to the final of "The Voice of Germany", but also to the live final of the American version.

Looking behind the scenes with VR

At the same time, fans have the opportunity to experience the programme in a virtual reality setting. Aldi is offering its own app for iPhone and Android models for this purpose. Among other things, the free app aims to give viewers a look behind the scenes - backstage, in the dressing room, at the blind auditions or at the grand finale. However, users need virtual reality glasses to enjoy the full experience.

VR was already used for the German season of Ninja Warrior for the viewers, as we reported.
