Update for EVE: Valkyrie with new content & non-VR version

CCP Games has confirmed that on 26 September 2017 the free "Warzone" update will be released for "EVE: Valkyrie" on PC and PlayStation 4. There are new features and content on board, but the VR requirement has also been removed.

So if you install the update, you will be able to play the space shooter without a VR headset in future, which is of course optional. VR users can also look forward to new ships. With new weapons, including the powerful Ultra abilities, and a completely revised progression for each ship, you will soon have more control over the development of your armoury, allowing you to better adapt it to your own playing style.

Also new in "EVE: Valkyrie - Warzone" is the "Extraction" game mode, which relocates the familiar "Battle for the Flag" to space. "Warzone" also includes the two new maps "Fleet" and "Outpost". In addition, further wormholes have been confirmed, which contain a new challenge every week. The fresh trailer draws attention to cross-platform and cross-reality, as players with and without VR headsets compete together.

Andrew Willans, Lead Game Designer at CCP Newcastle: "If you play first-person shooters, you've got what it takes to pilot one of the amazing ships in EVE: Valkyrie - Warzone. Not having access to VR hardware can no longer stop gamers from diving headfirst into intense, thrilling space battles with friends. We are sure that the already intense competition between the Valkyrie pilots will become even more exciting as many new players from around the world join the veterans to fight fierce space battles."

Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games": "The release of EVE: Valkyrie for high-end VR headsets was the fulfilment of a decade-long dream for CCP. "We've had great success in establishing the title as one of the most popular multiplayer games in the virtual reality segment and have spent the last two years expanding and growing it with unprecedented, genre-leading support that has given us a vibrant, ever-growing community. Now we begin the next stage of the EVE: Valkyrie journey by introducing this great game to an even wider audience - those who have yet to make the leap into the world of VR. Meanwhile, we are continuing our work on other VR projects that have not yet been announced."
