Ninja Theorywhich is known for "DmC: Devil May Cry", "Enslaved: Odyssey to the West", "Heavenly Sword" and the VR game "Dexed", is very enthusiastic about virtual reality. The co-founder of the studio, Tameem Antoniades, sees a bright future for VR gaming in particular.
In an interview, Tameem Antoniades said: "We have already experimented with VR. We've used Hellblade as a testing ground and we did a VR scene from Hellblade last year on YouTube and published in the Oculus Store."
Tameem Antoniades goes even further: "VR is very likely to be the dominant form of gaming. This is difficult to recognise at the moment because of the clunky headsets, performance and battery requirements. The current criticism of VR will be smashed with the third generation of VR headsets."
If the headsets become more compact (especially without tangled cables) and more powerful, VR will prevail in the long term, according to the developer. Ninja Theory's latest game, the action adventure "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice" (see image and 360-degree video), will be released on 8 August 2017 for PC and PlayStation 4, but without a VR mode.
