It is not an e-sport. In Hado, players throw virtual fireballs at their opponents, but they have to move with full physical effort. The application is already all the rage in Japan.
A real virtual battle
The Japanese start-up Meleap has brought the new generation of sport to life. In this augmented reality team sport, you and your friends engage in a fierce battle. You can either play against each other or fight together as a team against a virtual big boss.
Glasses and smartwatch as equipment
The game requires a headset (HMD) and a smartwatch. With the special HMD glasses, you can see both the normal environment and the virtual elements. As soon as a Hado player moves his hand, the smartwatch registers the movement and generates a fireball on the screen. The videos show how the action-packed game works.

Apparently, you can also shoot a fireball with a bow and collect magic potions. As well as firing, players can also recharge their energy by lowering their hand downwards. A protective shield also protects against attacks. By raising their hand to their side, they can also cast a healing spell. The game is therefore very intuitive and even small children can have fun with it. The Japanese in the video seem to have been playing for hours. Real nerds!
The financing strategy for Hado was initially based on in-app purchases and the sale of the special headset required for the game. Hado is already available in over 90 amusement parks and malls. And how could it be otherwise: there is even a World Cup and other major events.
Who can remember Takeshi's Castle? Somehow the Hado Kart reminds me of the final game. But see for yourself in the video what the Hado expansion looks like.

The project shows how augmented reality can become a virtual playground for movement in a slightly less wild way Demonstration.
