With the "Job Simulator", the developer studio Owlchemy Labs has delivered one of the first really successful VR games. The crazy work simulation was and is extremely popular on YouTube and in Let's Plays, as all kinds of wacky and funny situations can arise. At the beginning of January 2017, the creators confirmed that the "Job Simulator" had generated sales of more than three million US dollars. Now it's time for Owlchemy Labs' next prank.
"Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality" will be released for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on 20 April 2017. The VR game is of course based on the popular animated TV series "Rick and Morty". In "Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality", players take on the role of a Morty clone. You explore Rick's garage, the Smiths' house and various alien worlds. As you can see in the short trailer, the gameplay mechanics from the "Job Simulator" are mixed with the series content. Hopefully the experiments and puzzles will be well realised. On Steam and in the Oculus Store the product pages for "Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality" are already available.
