Since the first "Mission Impossible" film from 1996, agent Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, has to deal with new villains time and time again. Most recently, "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" (2015) was released, for which there was even a VR experience. As part of various events, visitors were able to experience a scene with Ethan Hunt in which he was attached to an Airbus A400M taking off.
Paramount Pictures, together with the developer studio VRWERX a more comprehensive VR experience for "Mission Impossible". The game will offer an independent story, whereby the makers naturally want to draw inspiration from the previous films. You will slip into the role of an IMF agent and run, climb and, of course, fight based on a new movement system.
It is also promised that players will be able to perform stunts inspired by the films in virtual reality. It is unclear exactly what this will look like, as no images of the VR experience or the game are yet available. The VR experience for "Mission Impossible" will be released later this year for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR. Incidentally, the next film is scheduled for 2018.
