CCP Games, which is known from „EVE Online“ kennt, hat „Sparc“ angekündigt.
Those who are not actively involved in the action can simply watch the matches. This is a social area for VR and monitor viewers. There you can also join the queue for the next duel. „Sparc“ will contain various modes for two players. In addition, there will be challenges for single players, training modes and a whole range of options for customising and individualising the competitions. The first trailer provides impressions.
After our early experiments with VR gameplay for standing games, we were intrigued by the idea of developing a sport for the current generation of VR hardware. We designed Sparc to allow players to express and train their skills through physical engagement. We want players to think of Sparc as a virtual sports field in their living room, where they can meet and compete with other players from all over the world.
Morgan Godat, Executive Producer of CCP Atlanta
It is CCP Games' goal to turn our passion for virtual reality as a new medium into software and to develop the killer apps for the first generation of VR technologies. We want to achieve this in mobile VR with Gunjack and in sedentary VR with EVE: Valkyrie, both of which are already available. With Sparc, we want to capitalise on the strengths of standing VR and deliver a game with depth and excitement that players will return to for a long time to come.
Hilmar Veigar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games
