Sony Interactive Entertainment has now released the first information about the PS4 update to version 4.50, which is currently in beta testing. This also affects owners of PlayStation VRwho can look forward to a new feature. This is the official description: "As a PSVR owner, you can now play 3D Blu-ray discs on your PS4 and watch them on your headset in Stereoscopic 3D."
However, that is by no means all. Beta testers report that PlayStation VR's cinema mode has also been improved. The image should now be much clearer. As this optimisation is associated with a higher computing effort, it is reported that slight delays may be noticeable. The tracking of the VR headset is also said to work more accurately. However, this could just be a subjective impression of some testers, as there is no official confirmation from Sony. Unfortunately, it is currently not known when the PlayStation 4 will be supplied with firmware 4.50.
