Wouldn't it be cool to surf through an online watch shop and put on your favourite watch at the click of a mouse and admire it on your own wrist from every conceivable perspective? That's exactly what ClickOn has set itself and realised at Baselworld.
But the best thing to do is to try it out for yourself. All you need to do is install the "Swiss AR Watch" app on your mobile phone and the paper wristband here to download. Next, print out the paper wristband and cut it out. Then stick it around your wrist, start the app, select the watch you want and scan the strap. As if by magic, the selected watch appears on your wrist and can be moved and viewed at will.
We asked ClickOn a few questions about this:
How did you come up with the idea?
We had projects for various customers at Baselworld and were there accordingly. We wanted to show visitors something they had never seen before. We wanted to stand out and that's how we came up with this idea.
What was the main difficulty in realising the project?
We had to realise this within 5 days. Not only was the programming a challenge, but also printing the ribbons with the code on them. It was really difficult to find a print shop that could respond at such short notice.
Where was the app used?
The app was used at Baselworld. We actively approached trade fair visitors with it. Of course, we continue to use it in all our customer meetings.
What are the future plans for the app?
The app was a prototype for Baselworld. Various discussions are now underway with watch manufacturers. The aim is of course to be able to present the entire range of a watch manufacturer at Baselworld 2017.
We find the project very exciting and look forward to reporting on the finished project next year.
