Bringing sun protection to life with VR

Modern, individual sun and weather protection solutions are nowadays at home, in the garden or on the terrace are more in demand than ever. In future, STOBAG, the internationally active manufacturer, will already be using and planning on the latest VR technologies.

The innovative Swiss company STOBAG, which offers products ranging from textile sun blinds to glazed terrace roofs, has adopted the slogan "Innovative sun and weather protection since 1964". This innovative spirit should not only be reflected in the products, which is why those responsible at STOBAG decided on an exciting solution in the VR area.

The Swiss industry leader

With its project, STOBAG is considered a pioneer in the industry, according to René Merkli, Head Corporate Communication at STOBAG. With the German agency Net Realm they have been working on the solution for over two months. It's about showing our end users how the products work in different places. Be it on the rooftop, in the garden or on the beach. The customers can experience this "live" and even change the colours of the products and cloths.

The decision in favour of VR is very obvious. STOBAG sells its products exclusively through specialist retailers worldwide. Specialist retailers do not always have enough space to show all outdoor living products. However, showing the products is an important step in the buying process, or in the customer experience.

VR Premiere at STOBAG

For the VR premiere, Stobag invited around 20 top customers on Wednesday 8.6. A total of 3 VR stations were ready for testing on site. The aim of this event was to get the customers' opinion on whether VR could be a possible solution. René Merkli and the STOBAG team were already extremely confident before the event: "We are very positive that it will hit like a bomb! The demo version, which is now already very mature, definitely provides for collective Astonishment and elicits many a user's a broad grin.

Worldwide VR Showrooms

From July, end consumers will be able to test the STOBAG VR Station live on site in Muri. In a next step, STOBAG will equip all showrooms around the world with the STOBAG VR Station. The company has showrooms in Muri AG, Lausanne, Weesp NL, Verona IT, St. Pölten AT and Burlington CA.
