The well-known fantasy franchise "Shadowgate" is being converted for virtual reality. Zojoi has announced that "Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok" will be released for the Oculus Quest platform in October 2021.
The developers on their title: "The game is based on the extremely successful Shadowgate series, which was first developed for the Apple Macintosh in 1987. After its great success on the NES, the game was subsequently ported or remade on over 15 platforms. Unlike its predecessors, SGVR is a brand new VR adventure developed exclusively for the Oculus Quest. SGVR accomplishes what no other Shadowgate adventure has done - it allows the player to actually play and immerse themselves in our fantasy world!"
"Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrok" does without the point-and-click interface and instead relies on immersive motion control, which allows VR users to interact with the touch controllers of Oculus Quests in the game world.
