Under the title Best of Swiss Apps, a renowned jury of experts and users award the best Swiss apps every year. Mercedes-Benz was honoured no less than four times with the interactive 4U Kids app - including as the best app of the year in the category "Mixed, Augmented, Virtual Reality".
A record number of 229 apps were judged this year by a jury of experts and users in the Best of Swiss Apps competition. At yesterday's digital award night, 4U Kids by Mercedes-Benz was named best app of the year in the "Mixed, Augmented, Virtual Reality" category.
In addition, the interactive app for children and young people received gold in the "User Experience" category and silver in both the "Innovation" and "Functionality" categories. No boredom at the dealership "We are very proud of these awards," says Marc Langenbrinck, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Switzerland. "Our aim is that nowhere in Switzerland is an automotive customer as well looked after as at Mercedes-Benz. And with the 4U Kids App, we make sure that this is also the case for our customers' children."
Fun at the car dealer also for kids
The app is used at Mercedes-Benz dealers, among others. While their parents get advice, younger children design their individual dream car on the tablet, print it out as a handicraft sheet and build their three-dimensional Mercedes-Benz. The older of the younger guests build a race track from straight and curved elements. This is then photographed with a tablet and converted into a virtual track in an online game. The young racers then drive laps in the digital Mercedes-Benz on their self-designed track.
Best customer experience for all generations The games were developed in Switzerland - together with the Zurich-based agency Staay. "We didn't want to simply offer a standard game off the shelf," says Christian Berg, who is responsible for the Best Customer Experience at Mercedes-Benz Switzerland. During the development, children and parents were therefore repeatedly asked for their opinion. "This valuable feedback was incorporated into the concept and makes our app unique.
