The well-known "Sniper Elite" series makes it into virtual reality, because Rebellion is working on "Sniper Elite VR", which can be viewed in the informative E3 trailer. "Sniper Elite VR" will be released for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Valve Index (Steam VR). A date has not yet been set.
In "Sniper Elite VR", this time you take on the role of an Italian resistance fighter who wants to end the threat of submarines in the Mediterranean and fight against the Nazis. Once again, the X-Ray kill camera is included, which brutally shows organs and bones being shattered by bullets in slow motion. This feature has been completely reworked for VR, it is said. Numerous weapons such as rifles, pistols and grenades are available for combat.
"There are many elements in the Sniper Elite series that we wanted to bring to VR - freedom of movement is definitely one of them. You move your character like in a traditional first-person shooter, traversing environments, taking cover from enemy fire and attacking enemies," says Steve Bristow, Assistant Head of Design.
