Eric Chahi, the creator of the well-known classic "Another World"is working with his studio Pixel Reef on the unusual and creative VR game "Paper Beast". The title will be released for PlayStation VR at the end of 2019 and as a non-VR version for the PlayStation 4 in 2020.
The storyline is very promising, as an ecosystem has formed in the depths of a huge data server. Over the decades, vast amounts of lost code and algorithms have accumulated in the forgotten corners of the internet. A small and isolated oasis has formed. The creatures you meet there are all made of paper. This is intended to form a symbolic bridge between the world of humans and the world of information technology. If you still can't imagine what this means, a first trailer provides the corresponding images.
"For Paper Beast, we wanted to create a complete ecosystem full of unique inhabitants. Our goal was to give players the thrill of exploration as they step onto untouched land for the first time, a place where no human has gone before. When you observe animals in the wild, there's something very special about the way they move and react," says Eric Chahi. "Every gameplay moment is based on a simulation that covers every detail, from the habitat to the animal's locomotion. This creates an immersive universe full of life in which you can interact precisely with your environment. The creatures adapt their behaviour to yours."
