Nintendo Labo: VR Kit for Switch announced

Nintendo has now revealed what it imagines VR to be. The whole thing is a little reminiscent of the Google Cardboard. The "Nintendo Labo: VR Kit" for the Switch has been announced. The release will take place on 12 April 2019.

The new set around "Nintendo Labo" is aimed at children and families. According to Nintendo, it offers an easy and first access to virtual reality. The "Nintendo Labo: VR Set" contains everything necessary for six new Toy-Con experiences. This includes VR goggles made of cardboard, which are used together with the creations.

Nintendo describes: "Players put on the glasses and then interact - with real, natural movements - with the game world. For example, they have to fight off an alien invasion with the Toy-Con blaster or explore a colourful ocean with the Toy-Con camera and take pictures of the underwater world.

The Switch is simply inserted into the VR glasses. Players can hold them in front of their eyes and get started immediately. A head strap is not necessary. In addition to the "Nintendo Labo: VR Set", which is a complete package, a starter set is also available. The latter can then be expanded with two packages. An overview is available on the official side available.
